Today marks the 350th anniversary of the birth of the Bolognese composer and violinist, Tomaso Antonio Vitali. His most famous work is the Chaconne in G minor. Here is a stupendous interpretation of it by the legendary Jascha Heifetz, accompanied by the great American organist Richard Ellsasser (recorded August 4, 1950, at Bridges Hall, Pomona College, Claremont, CA.)
